Foundation Programs support the District's Mission and align with the District's Strategic Plan to promote educational excellence
to enhance lifelong learning. Programs will be implemented as funds are available or as they are endowed.
Current Programs
Student Enrichment Opportunity Grants (Up to $25,000/Campus; $2,000/Student) will provide funds that reward excellence in
scholarship and character to qualified students for academic programs that extend beyond
  • Summer Mobile Reading Labs and Visiting Authors
  • After School Transportation for Fine Arts, Academic UIL and Tutoring
  • Student Tuition and Fees for Dual Credit Courses and Exam Fees for
    ACT, SAT and Advanced Placement
  • Student Career and Technology Education Supplies and Certifications
  • Student Leadership Training and other Co-Curricular Experiences, such
    as Math/Science Academies

Technology Initiatives (Up to $50,000/Campus; $25,000/Team of Teachers) will enable JISD educators to integrate
cutting-edge technology that supplements and aligns with the District Improvement Plan into their curricula. Funding may
support, but shall not be limited to, the following:
  • SMART Boards (Interactive White Boards) with data projectors
  • Document Cameras to magnify and project objects and text
    onto a large screen
  • Data Projectors to project images from a computer to a large
    screen
  • Additional Computers for the classroom
  • Educational Software to further enhance instruction
  • Interactive Classroom Performance Systems to provide
    immediate student feedback in an instructional setting

Instructional Enhancement Grants (Up to $25,000/District; $15,000/Campus; $5,000/Team of Teachers) will be awarded to
groups of JISD educators and/or administrators for projects that supplement and align with the District Improvement Plan.
Initiatives may include, but shall not be limited to, funding for resources and materials and experiential learning
opportunities.
